The Ansell ActivArmr 97-006 Dyneema carpenter glove is designed to protect the hands against cuts and abrasions during carpentry tasks. The glove features a polyurethane palm coating that offers greater wear resistance than leather, enabling extra gripping ability for handling tools. The glove is knit from Dyneema fiber, also known as UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) fiber, which provides greater cut protection, abrasion resistance, and strength compared to leather and aramid fibers.

Ansell's knitted variable stitch design (KVSD) offers a barehanded feeling and breathability, while the cuff has a slip wrist design and an adjustable wrist closure for comfort. The inner cuff also includes an ID nameplate for personal identification. This glove meets the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) 105-2005 performance rating standards for level 2 cut resistance, making it suitable for use in working with wood, nails, metal, and power tools, as well as cutting, fastening, and carving wooden objects.

Work gloves, in general, are designed to help protect the hands, cover the wrists, and sometimes extend to cover part or all of the arm. They are typically constructed from leather or heavy cotton and are suitable for use in construction, mechanical, landscaping, and do-it-yourself applications to help protect against minor cuts and abrasions. Work gloves for use in manufacturing and construction industries can be made of woven, high-strength synthetic fiber to resist cuts from heavy machinery and withstand high levels of heat without melting. Work gloves may also be made of, or include, flame retardant material for use in welding and other heavy-duty applications.

Ansell is a manufacturer of surgical, examination, industrial, and household gloves, as well as protective clothing. The company, founded in 1905, is headquartered in Red Bank, NJ.
